The Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang Golay has instructed the departments to implement work from home for 50 percent of government employees. Holding a meeting with senior officials at Gangtok today on the austerity measures, the Chief Minister also instructed to suspend foreign travel for one year for employees and to maintain Saturdays and Sundays as non-working days. He also instructed to implement the odd-even vehicle rule across all districts. The Chief Minister also directed that government employees to be restricted from inter-district travel and out-of-state movement using government vehicles.
