Short Range Ballistic Missile ‘Agni-1’ was successfully test-launched from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha today. Ministry of Defence said that the launch validated all operational and technical parameters. The test was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.
The successful launch marks another milestone in India’s strategic defence preparedness and reinforces the credibility of the country’s minimum credible deterrence capability.
Agni-1 is a short-range, surface-to-surface ballistic missile developed indigenously as part of India’s strategic missile programme. The missile is capable of carrying both conventional and strategic payloads and is designed for quick deployment and high mobility.
