Shiv Sena nominates Jyoti Waghmare; NCP nominates Parth Pawar as their party’s candidate for Rajya Sabha elections

Shiv Sena has nominated Jyoti Waghmare, while NCP has nominated Parth Pawar as their party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections. Veteran leader Sharad Pawar has been officially renominated as the candidate representing MahaVikas Aghadi.

The BJP has already nominated four candidates, namely Ramdas Athawale, Vinod Tawde, Maya Chintaman Inwate, and Ramrao Wadkute.

All these candidates have filed their nomination papers today. With seven seats due to be vacated, chances are high that these candidates will be elected unopposed. Scrutiny of the nomination papers is scheduled for tomorrow.

These elections were announced as the term of seven members from Maharashtra is set to expire in April 2026. These include NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and RPI (A) chief Ramdas Athawale, who have been renominated, while the others who will retire include Dr Bhagwat Karad and Dhairyashil Patil from BJP, Priyanka Chaturvedi from Shiv Sena (UBT), Rajani Patil from Congress and Fauzia Khan from NCP (SP).
