Seychelles President Patrick Herminie Arrives in India for Official Visit

 
Seychelles President Patrick Herminie, on his first official visit to India, arrived at Chennai early this morning. He was given a warm welcome by State Minister Madhivendhan and top officials of the State Government. Patrick Hermine, who is on a five-day visit, will meet State Governor R.N.Ravi. On the 7th, he will be travelling to Mumbai and meet Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devrat. His visit to India coincides with the celebration of 50 years of a strong diplomatic relationship.
 
External Affairs Ministry said in a statement that during his visit to India, President Herminie will meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest. 
 
Seychelles is a key maritime neighbour for India in the Indian Ocean region and holds a special place in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR and commitment to the Global South. India is expected to lend further momentum to wide-ranging cooperation and robust people-to-people ties between the two countries.
