Severe flooding has affected more than 9,60,000 people across six states in South Sudan, displacing over 335,000. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the floods have damaged over 140 health facilities, limiting access to essential services amid outbreaks of cholera and malaria. The World Health Organization reported over 1,04,000 malaria cases and 16 deaths in the past week, a 15 percent increase linked to the flooding. Humanitarian agencies, including the UN and the World Food Programme, are providing food, medical aid, and emergency supplies despite access challenges in Unity, Jonglei, and Upper Nile.
