Seven women labourers were killed, and four others were injured in a road accident on the Samruddhi Expressway in Jalna district of Maharashtra this evening. According to police, the accident occurred around 5 pm near Kadwanchi on the Nagpur corridor when a container rammed into a pickup vehicle carrying labourers from behind. The mishap is suspected to have been caused after the container driver lost control due to drowsiness. The injured have been admitted to the Government Hospital in Jalna for treatment. The container driver has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
