Rising for the third straight week, the domestic benchmark indices gained over 1 percent this week despite geopolitical tensions. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange jumped 1,289 points, or 1.6 percent during the week, to end the week at 80,502 yesterday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange gained 307 points, or 1.2 percent, to end at 24,347. For the month of April, both the indices surged 3.5 percent each. In the broader market, the BSE Mid-cap Index added 0.4 percent but the Small-cap Index declined 1.3 percent.
