In Punjab, to ensure peaceful celebrations on Independence Day, tomorrow, Punjab Police have beefed up security across the State, and all field units have been directed to remain on high alert.
Around 250 Police Teams, involving over 1500 Police Personnel, have been deputed across the State to deal with any situation while ensuring minimum inconvenience to the general public.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, recently had meetings with police chiefs of the districts and border ranges regarding the current security scenario.
He reviewed counter-terror strategies and issued operational directives on inter-district coordination, high-visibility nakas, and round-the-clock surveillance to prevent any law and order breach in the border State.
