Secretary for DPIIT Ateesh Kumar Singh says govt is making efforts to lower cost of doing business

Additional Secretary for the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ateesh Kumar Singh, today said that the government is making efforts to lower the cost of doing business by reducing compliance burdens, decriminalising risk, and strengthening legal frameworks. He said this while addressing the 5th Green Investment and Sustainability Conclave organised by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India in New Delhi. He also emphasised the need to accelerate private investment and said that the innovation economy cannot remain confined to startups alone. Mr Singh further said that building Research and Development capabilities within the private sector production is essential to drive productivity and enhance global competitiveness.

The conclave was held under the theme ‘Financing a Climate Resilient Indian Economy: The Next Wave of Innovation for India.’ It was aimed at highlighting India’s evolving sustainability efforts in reshaping the future of green finance and climate-aligned business models.
