Seat-sharing talks among the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance are yet to be finalised. The CPI(M) has concluded its negotiations, securing five seats. CPI(M) state secretary P. Shanmugam signed the agreement with the DMK. In the 2021 Assembly elections, the party was allotted six seats.
Seat-sharing discussions with the VCK and Makkal Needhi Maiyam (MNM) are still underway. This will be the first Assembly election in which MNM will contest as an alliance partner of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance.
The DMDK, founded by actor-politician late Vijayakant, is also awaiting talks with the DMK-led alliance on seat-sharing.
