The search operation for the missing people continues in the disaster-affected Dharali-Harsil region of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. So far, 1,308 people have been rescued. The Uttarkashi district administration has also released a list of 68 people missing in the disaster, which includes 25 individuals of Nepali origin.

 

 

Meanwhile, earlier this afternoon, as the weather cleared, consignments of food and other relief materials were airlifted from the Matli helipad to the affected areas. Efforts are also underway by teams from the Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam and the Irrigation Department to manually open the lake that formed on the Bhagirathi River near the Harsil helipad after the disaster. Every possible effort is being made to restore essential services and infrastructure in the affected region.
