The scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming by-election in Dharmanagar Assembly constituency was completed today. Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer Debjani Chowdhury informed that all six nomination papers submitted by candidates were found valid, and none were rejected during the verification process.
The candidates contesting in the by-election include Jahar Chakraborty from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Amitabha Dutta from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Chayan Bhattacharjee from the Indian National Congress, Bibhas Ranjan Das from Amra Bangali, Sanjay Chowdhury from the Socialist Unity Centre of India, and independent candidate Brajalal Nath.
Meanwhile, observers appointed by the Election Commission of India have already arrived in Dharmanagar to oversee the electoral process. The General Observer is Harish Kumar K, the Police Observer is Satish Bino, and the Expenditure Observer is Dr. Veer Dnyaneshwar.
