Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar today laid emphasis on the role of innovation and research for the development of the country and wanted the country to become a global leader in the fields of science and technology. The vice president highlighted the need for corporate investment in research, development, and innovation. He urged the enterprises to compete with global leaders, stressing that advancements in technology and innovation are crucial for shaping India’s future.
Interacting with the students and faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-Hyderabad), the vice president said artificial intelligence (AI) is bringing about a paradigm shift every moment and introducing an era, a new kind of industrial revolution with greater potential, challenges, and opportunities. He said this has a big basket of opportunities for youngsters.
Referring to technological advances, he said over 20 crore farmers are getting direct benefits from banks through technological advances made in institutions like IITs.
Stating that digital marketing has developed through research and innovation, the vice president asked the students to focus on creativity and innovation. He asked them to excel as entrepreneurs and businessmen. Stating that though Chandrayaan failed in the initial phase, he said the mission was successful after facing many challenges. Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, IIT Chairman BV Mohan Reddy, IIT Director B S Murthyand, and Member of Parliament M Raghunandan Rao, among others, were also present.
