Sanchar Saathi Recovers Over 50,000 Lost Phones in October

The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) today said that its digital safety initiative Sanchar Saathi has recovered over 50 thousand lost and stolen mobile handsets across the country in October this year. The Ministry of Communications highlighted that overall, this initiative has recovered over 7 lakh handsets nationwide.
 
 
It added that the monthly recoveries have surged by 47 per cent between June to October this year, and more than one handset is being recovered every minute across the country. DoT also urged citizens to download the Sanchar Saathi App to not only report and block their lost or stolen mobile devices, but also to cross-check the genuineness of new or old devices that they intend to purchase.
