In West Bengal, members of Sanatani Oikyo Mancha today protested in front of the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata to protest against the brutal torture and killing of Dipu Das in Bangladesh. Protest was witnessed near the iconic Howrah Bridge in Kolkata also. Members of the Mancha also organised rallies in the border districts of West Bengal.
Political workers participated in a protest near Indo Bangladesh immigration check post at Fulbari of Jalpaiguri district. In Coochbehar district, people blocked the road to the international border near Changrabandha. Police and BSF personnel later dispersed the protesters.
In Malda, a demonstration was reported at Muchia. Members of Sanatani Oikyo Mancha also blocked the road near Ghojadanga land port near Indo Bangladesh border at Basirhat of North 24 Parganas district. Indian trucks and lorries carrying goods towards Bangladesh were blocked.
Protesters questioned the role of the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh to contain the violence and targeted killings of religious minorities in Bangladesh. Near the Petrapole Indo-Bangladesh border of Bongaon of North 24 Parganas district, a protest rally was held. Demonstrations were held to protest the killing of Dipu Das in Bangladesh at Ranaghat in Nadia district.
