In the Forex market, the rupee today appreciated by nine paise to close at 88 rupees and six paise against the US dollar amid positive domestic equities, softening of crude oil prices and weak US dollar index. The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 98.32 in intra-day trade.
