The Rajya Sabha today resumed discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address. Participating in the discussion, Union Minister and leader of the House JP Nadda said, the President’s speech captured India’s growth story and it was highly inspiring. He said her speech embodies the spirit of Amrit Kaal and also highlights the achievements of the Narendra Modi government. Mr Nadda said, from being part of the fragile five economies, now India has become the world’s fastest major economy. He said, the government is working with the vision of reform, performance and transformation. The Minister said that the President also spoke about centuries-old culture and traditions, while emphasising the journey towards Viksit Bharat by 2047. He said, India has finalized several free trade agreements with several countries which will create several opportunities for the people of the country. He said, the country’s security apparatus has been strengthened under Modi’s government and India has given the befitting reply to Pakistan under the Operation Sindoor and destroyed the terrorist’s hideouts.
Participating in the discussion, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that social justice and harmony has deteriorated under Modi’s government. He accused that Women have just become a vote bank for the BJP. He questioned the government why it was not implementing reservations for women. He alleged that crime against SC, ST and women are continuously rising in the country. He said, Congress brought RTI Act to bring transparency in the governance. Mr. Kharge also raised the issue of violence in Manipur accusing that centre failed to provide safety to the people. Discussion is underway.
Rajya Sabha MP of MNM Kamal Haasan raised questions over the undergoing SIR in different states, saying it is very much against the democratic echoes by conducting such exercise. Speaking on the ‘Motion of Thanks’ of the President’s speech in Rajya Sabha, he said that this democratic juggernaut will roll over differences, but should never roll over people. Speaking in the House, a BJP MP highlighted the issue raised by the President Murmu during the joint setting of both Houses, She said women empowerment will play an important role for the development of the country. She added that the president has touched upon every policy issue, which was implemented by a strong government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Viksit Bharat. Another BJP MP Bhim Singh praised the Prime Minister for taking important policy decisions to make India self-reliant by 2047.
