Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav today reaffirmed India’s global environmental leadership amid anthropogenic and geopolitical turbulence. Addressing a session on green growth at India Edge conference 2025 in New Delhi, the Minister stated that the nation has emerged as a trusted global partner, redefining development to correct imbalances, prioritising green technologies and promoting sustainable manufacturing. Mr Yadav said that roadmap for developed India is rooted in a low carbon economy, energy independence and a holistic model of sustainable development.
He noted that clean industrialisation is not a constraint but a catalyst for economic expansion, innovation, resilience, and future prosperity. Highlighting the transformative role of Circular Economy and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in Industry’s Transition, Mr Yadav said that EPR can unlock 33 lakh new jobs, creating a green-skilled workforce. He also mentioned that several measures taken by environment ministry including Mission Life, Green Audit Rules are designed to advance circular economy principles, strengthen environmental governance and enhance climate resilience.
