A one-day national consultation meeting on the Juvenile Justice Act was organised under the chairmanship of Annapurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, today in Ranchi at the Judicial Academy. The Minister said that the foundation of a strong society is laid only by giving justice, protection and respect to teenagers. In the meeting, Jharkhand High Court Judge Anubha Rawat Chaudhary, along with members of the Juvenile Justice Board, the Child Welfare Committee, Special Juvenile Police Unit officers, and District Child Protection Officials, were present to discuss the current state of the Act in the state. On the occasion, a dialogue was held on making the juvenile justice system more effective and sensitive.
