Red Alert Issued for Pune Ghat Area; Orange Alert for Several Districts

A red alert has been issued in the Pune Ghat area for the next 24 hours in the state, and an orange alert has been issued in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai city, Mumbai suburbs, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, districts as well as Satara Ghat, Kolhapur Ghat. The district administration has been instructed to remain alert during this period, the State Emergency Operation Centre has informed.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall between 17 and 21 and citizens have been instructed to remain alert. Also, the district administration has been informed for all necessary actions in accordance with the landslide warning due to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the State Emergency Operation Center has informed that fishermen have been advised not to go into the sea as the sea condition is rough and winds are likely to blow at 50-60 km per hour.
 
 
The Kundalika river in Raigad district has crossed the warning level. The Jagbudi river in Ratnagiri district has crossed the danger level and as the water of the Jagbudi river in Khed city has entered the Khed-Dapoli road, traffic from Khed city to Dapoli has been closed for safety reasons and alert instructions have been issued to the citizens by the district administration.
Currently, 28,075 cusecs of water is being discharged into the Tapi river basin from Hatnur dam in Jalgaon district and 54,466 cusecs from Isapur dam in Yavatmal district into the Painganga river basin.
 
 
The State Emergency Operations Center has informed that the administration has instructed the National Disaster Response Force and the State Disaster Response Force to be alert for emergency situations.
