Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale has said that the Central Government is committed to the development of Scheduled Tribes in the country. Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, he informed that the Bengaluru Shilpotsava 2025 has been organized today to provide a market for the products made by the tribals and the Scheduled caste and Tribes.
The main objective of this program is to provide a marketing platform for the products of the communities financed by the three national corporations functioning under the Ministry (NSFDC, NSKFDC & NBCFDC), namely, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Safai Karamcharis, and artisans.
TULIP is a new initiative to market the excellent products of the target groups to the general public in India and abroad through various e-platforms. These products have been branded under the name TULIP (Traditional Artisans’ Upliftment Livelihood Programme).
The brand “TULIP’ provides artisans from the target groups a platform to sell their products online. This initiative not only aims to economically empower these groups but also seeks to preserve traditional art while promoting its significance. He clarified that so far, through 11 such fairs, 825 artisans from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Safai Karmacharis were benefitted.
