Parliament has passed the Appropriation (No. 4) Bill 2025, with the Rajya Sabha approving it and returning it to the Lok Sabha after discussion. The Bill seeks to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2025-26.
Replying to the discussion on the Bill, Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, stressed that there is no shortage of urea in the nation. He saidthe budget for health has increased by more than doubled from the period between 2014-15 and 2025-26.
Mr Chaudhary said compared to 2013-14, MSP on all major crops have doubled in 2025-26. He highlighted that India’s Credit Ranking has improved. He assured that the Modi government does not discriminate between any states in allotting funds.
Earlier, participating in the discussion, Ghanshyam Tiwari of BJP said India’s economy has crossed 4 trillion dollars. He said the Narendra Modi government is committed to the development of the nation. AAP MLA Raghav Chadha expressed concern that investment in India is highly taxed.
He said long-term investments in this country are being treated as short-term speculations, and this needs to change. After completing this legislative business, Deputy Chairman Harivansh adjourned the House for the day.
