Khelo India Youth Games: Karnataka leads medal tally with four Gold, five silver medals

At the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, Team Rajasthan secured the gold medal in an exciting 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. The duo of Mayank Choudhary and Prachi from Rajasthan took an early lead. However, Team Uttar Pradesh, represented by Dev Pratap and Urva Choudhary, made a strong comeback and managed to level the score at 15-15.

        In the decisive round, Prachi scored a remarkable shot of 10.6, helping Rajasthan win the gold medal and leaving Uttar Pradesh to settle for silver.

        Speaking exclusively to Akashvani News, Prachi said that the match against Uttar Pradesh was very exciting and the game point helped Rajasthan to secure the victory.

        In the bronze medal match, Delhi’s Niyamicka Rana and Hardik Bansal defeated Haryana’s Pratik Sheokand and Kanak in a closely contested battle, with a final score of 16-14. Haryana gave a tough fight and managed to push the match to the final rounds.

        After the match, Hardik Bansal said that it was a very close match, and everyone had to wait until the last round to see the result.

 

        In this edition of the Khelo India Youth Games, the national capital is hosting events in Shooting, Cycling, and Gymnastics, while all other sports are being held in Bihar.

In the archery competitions held so far Maharashtra has established its dominance by superb performance. The state has qualified in many categories like recurve and compound.

        In the girls’ archery recurve event, the gold medal match will now be played between Maharashtra’s Vaishnavi Pawar and Sharvari Shinde.

        Meanwhile, in the boys’ recurve category, there will be a clash for the gold medal between Tamil Nadu’s L R Sarvesh and Maharashtra’s Ujjwal Olekar.

        In the boys’ compound event Maharashtra’s Manav Ganesh Jadhav and Jharkhand’s Devansh Singh will clash for the gold medal. A tough competition for gold is also expected in the girls’ compound category between Maharashtra’s Tejal R Salve and  Prithika will lock horns.

 

        Karnataka has notched top position in the Khelo India Youth Games medal tally with Four gold and five silver medals. Delhi is in second position with two gold medals and one each silver and bronze. With one gold and one silver medal and five bronze Maharashtra is at third place.
