Death Toll Rises to 14 in Jaipur Dumper Accident; PM Modi Announces ₹2 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Victims’ Families, ₹50,000 for Injured

In Rajasthan, the death toll in the tragic dumper accident in Jaipur has reached fourteen. Five people are reported to be critically injured and are undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital in Jaipur.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a mishap in Jaipur, Rajasthan. In a social media post, the President conveyed condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this heart-wrenching incident and prayed for the swift recovery of those who have been injured.
Vice President Radhakrishnan called the accident tragic and expressed his thoughts with the affected people and their families during this difficult time.
Prime Minister Modi announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given 50 thousand rupees. Mr Modi also wished speedy recovery of the injured.
The accident took place this morning on Sikar Road, when a speeding dumper truck went out of control and rammed into several vehicles, including cars and motorcycles. The impact was so severe that many vehicles were completely crushed.
Police have arrested the driver, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. 
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and has directed officials to provide the best possible medical care to the injured. 
Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, while the city remains in shock over one of the deadliest road accidents in recent times. The Chief Minister has called a high-level meeting this evening to review the rising number of road accidents in the state.
