Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav today virtually laid the foundation stone and dedicated multiple projects worth over 400 crore rupees in Rajasthan.
The projects are related to semiconductors, railway and Sewage Water treatment plants.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi several key projects were launched in Rajasthan, which is accelerating the pace of development in the state.
Mr. Sharma said, for the first time, 35 policies have been formulated in Rajasthan. He said that the Rajasthan government has introduced its first Semiconductor Policy in March this year, aimed at positioning the state as a leading hub for semiconductor design.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that India has made significant strides in electronics manufacturing over the past 12 years. He noted that the electronics sector has expanded sixfold, with total production now reaching 13 lakh crore rupees.
Mr Vaishnaw also highlighted that electronics exports have surged eleven times, crossing 4 lakh crore rupees. He said that mobile phones have now emerged as India’s leading export commodity.
The Minister added that 12 semiconductor units have been established in the country, giving India a new identity on the global stage.
