In Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of extremely heavy rainfall for tomorrow for Nagaur, Ajmer, and Pali district. It has also issued orange alert for tomorrow for 10 districts including Tonk, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jalore, and Bhilwara.
In the last 24 hours, heavy rains have occurred in many parts of Baran, Kota, Bundi, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Banswara and Jodhpur districts. Normal life is getting disrupted due to heavy rains in many cities in the last 24 hours in the state. Waterlogging is prevalent at many places and traffic is getting obstructed. In rural areas, many villages have lost contact with the main roads.
The administration is on alert mode in the areas affected by heavy rains and people are being appealed to stay in safe places. SDRF teams are also on alert and are engaged in rescue operations. Train operations have been affected due to waterlogging and soil sliding under the tracks between Pali Marwar and Bomadara railway stations in Jodhpur.
Due to heavy rains in the catchment area of Chambal river around Kota barrage, water is being drained by opening 12 gates of the barrage. More than seven people have died in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours.
