The Raipur Literature Festival began today. The festival was inaugurated by the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh. The programme was presided over by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
Addressing the inaugural session, Mr Harivansh said that Chhattisgarh has a rich and ancient literary tradition and the state has always preserved its local culture with great strength. He said that India’s self-reliance has given a new direction to the world, and literature has played a powerful role behind this national strength.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this is the period of Amrit Kaal as well as the Silver Jubilee year of the formation of Chhattisgarh state, and the festival is being organised in keeping with this spirit.
During the three-day Literature Festival, a total of forty-two sessions will be held, featuring in-depth discussions on contemporary literature as well as social and cultural issues. As many as one hundred and twenty writers from across the country are participating in the festival.
