Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Says Indian Railways Transforming Connectivity with 25,000 Trains Daily

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that Indian Railways is transforming connectivity across the nation with nearly 25,000 trains running every day throughout the year. In a social media post, Mr Vaishnaw underscored the transformative progress of Indian Railways in the last financial year. He highlighted record freight and passenger performance, expansion of Vande Bharat services, safety improvements, and strengthened station and terminal infrastructure, aimed at improving the passenger experience.
 
The Railway Ministry informed that freight transportation achieved a historic milestone, with one thousand six hundred seventy million tonnes of loading achieved in 2025-26. Indian Railways also strengthened its Indigenous Manufacturing by producing over fifteen hundred locomotives and more than six thousand six hundred LHB coaches. To enhance operational safety, Indian Railways commissioned the indigenous Kavach Automatic Train Protection System over three thousand route kilometres. Railways also commissioned 35 Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals, facilitating improved logistics efficiency and multimodal integration. Meanwhile, 119 stations were redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, offering upgraded amenities and improved passenger experience.
