Railways Conducts Safety and Technical Review of Bridges Over Ravi River in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, a senior delegation from Indian Railways conducted an extensive safety and technical review of rail bridges over the Ravi River along the Kathua-Madhopur stretch in the Jammu division yesterday. The inspection focused on restoration work on a bridge which was damaged during intense rainfall last year, with engineers assessing structural stability, load-bearing capacity and overall durability.

The team also reviewed track alignment, sleeper conditions and signalling systems to ensure operational safety on this crucial link connecting Punjab with Jammu and Kashmir. The visit was led by Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar, Commissioner of Railway Safety Dinesh Chand Deshwal and Chief Administrative Officer of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, Alok Mishra, who also reviewed emergency preparedness ahead of the monsoon season.
