Punjab is convening a special session of the state assembly today to pay homage to the working class of the state on the occasion of Labour Day. A decision to this effect was taken by the Council of Ministers in its recent meeting.
The Chief Minister’s office said that the one-day session will pay tribute to the immense contribution of the working class in the socio-economic development of the country. It was also decided that the representatives of the labour unions will be invited to the session as special guests in the house. The session will also discuss the impact of the restructuring of MGNREGA scheme into G-Ram-G scheme. In addition, during the session, other essential legislative business, as determined by the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly, will also be carried out.
