Punjab Police arrests Pathankot resident for spying for Pakistan

Punjab Police has arrested a Pathankot resident for spying for Pakistan-based handlers by installing an internet-linked CCTV camera on the Pathankot-Jammu National Highway-44. Pathankot SSP Daljinder Singh Dhillon told Akashvani News that as per the preliminary investigation, the accused Baljit Singh installed a CCTV camera near a bridge on the National Highway-44 to allegedly keep an eye on the movement of the army and paramilitary forces. Its live feed was shared with Pakistan-based ISI handlers.

The police is also looking for his three more accomplices. One of whom was providing him logistics at the local level and two others are sitting abroad and are in touch with foreign based intelligence agencies. Notably, last month also, police had busted two Pakistan’s ISI-backed espionage modules using high-tech solar-powered CCTV cameras to transmit live feeds of sensitive military locations to Pakistan-based handlers.
