Punjab Police have arrested Punjab MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, who had been evading arrest for more than six months.

 

Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police, Varun Sharma has confirmed his arrest by Patiala police team, which was following his whereabouts through various technical means. The MLA was declared a proclaimed offender by the court on serious charges, including rape, cheating and criminal intimidation. He was on the run since September, 2025 after committing the alleged crimes and registration of a police case against him in Patiala. A lookout notice was also issued against him.

 

He is the second Punjab MLA who has been arrested in the last two days after the arrest of MLA and former Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar in an abetment to suicide case.
