As the Dussehra is being celebrated across the nation with much religious fervor and gaiety, Punjab Police has adopted a unique way to celebrate the festival and aware the public against the drug menace.
In an out of the box initiative to spread awareness against drugs – a demon which is eating out lives of many youngsters in Punjab, the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate had installed a fourth effigy of this social evil along with the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkarana, at some places in the city.
Named as ‘Nasheyan Da Rakshas’ (Demon of drugs), it has been burnt with a message to stop use of drugs. This initiative also conveys the message of Punjab’s fight against the menace. However, it is up to the people of the state to find positive ways to win over this evil which is killing their own family members on regular intervals.
