Punjab Players Sweep Top Spots at 37th Sub-Junior Nationals in Bhubaneswar

Punjab is celebrating its brightest young talents who have made the state proud at the 37th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championship, concluded in Bhubaneswar, yesterday.
Two of its players have bagged top slots of Gold and Silver under-17 category and three others have won Bronze under-15 category, last evening.
Jagsher Khangura beat Viraj Sharma to win Gold whereas Viraj remained runner-up to win Silver. Interestingly both were from Punjab and competed against each other. This is the first time that a Punjab vs Punjab final has been witnessed at the national level in any badminton category.
Other players from the state who secured podium finish include Zorawar Singh, who won two Bronze medals in boys doubles and mixed doubles under-15 categories.
Similarly, Inayat Gulati bagged two Bronze in under-15 singles and mixed doubles. Wazir Singh has also won Bronze in boys doubles in the same category. 
Beaming with joy, former national player and Punjab Badminton Association’s Honorary Secretary, Ritin Khanna said our players have made us proud. The efforts we put in over the past five years have started showing results as Punjab now boasts of several international medallists.
