Punjab launched its first-ever caste socio-economic survey yesterday. The exercise aims to assess the living standards of all communities while maintaining complete confidentiality. It will play a crucial role in ensuring equitable and targeted policymaking. Government sources said that a budget of Rs. 250 Crore has been kept for the survey. 28,000 enumerators will be deployed to collect the data from across the state. The survey is likely to be completed in three months.
