Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, yesterday and has discussed security and development concerns of Punjab along the international border with Pakistan.

According to sources, he has apprised the Prime Minister that there is need to create employment opportunities for the youth in the state, especially in border districts, by encouraging industries to set up industrial units in these sensitive areas.

He further underscored the importance of strengthening vigilance at the international border through the installation of Anti-Drone Systems and high-definition cameras.

The meeting covered a wide spectrum of issues, from immediate flood relief measures to long-term development, from security preparedness to educational reforms, and from socio-cultural sensitivities to economic revival in the border regions.
