Puducherry: Second randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs for 2026 Assembly Elections completed

In Puducherry, as part of preparations for the Legislative Assembly General Election 2026, the second randomisation for the allocation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs to polling stations was carried out today.

The exercise was conducted using the EVM Management System 2.0 software developed by the Election Commission of India in the offices of the Returning Officers across Puducherry, Mahe and Yanam regions. The process took place in the presence of candidates, their representatives and general observers, under the supervision of election authorities.

Following the completion of the randomisation process, polling station-wise lists of allocated EVMs and VVPATs, along with details of reserve machines, were shared with representatives of all contesting candidates. The machines allocated today will be used in the respective polling stations on the day of polling.
