The Pongal festival was celebrated today in a traditional and festive manner at Lok Niwas in Puducherry. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan, along with his family, participated in the celebrations and prepared Pongal on the occasion.

Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Legislative Assembly Speaker R. Selvam, and other dignitaries also attended the function. Cultural programmes and traditional games highlighting Tamil culture and heritage were also organised as part of the celebrations.
