Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy expressed his appreciation for the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today. He highlighted that the budget fulfils the expectations of the people and aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on advancing the nation’s growth. The Chief Minister particularly welcomed the emphasis on agriculture, noting the importance of initiatives like increasing the Kisan Credit Card limit and the introduction of PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana.
He also appreciated the proposed investments in rural infrastructure, including broadband connectivity for schools and healthcare centres, and the 500 crore rupees plan for an AI Centre of Excellence for Education.
Chief Minister Rangasamy also praised the budget’s focus on enhancing economic growth and job creation through measures like raising the credit limit for small businesses and launching new schemes for women entrepreneurs from marginalized communities. He acknowledged the budget’s commitment to improving healthcare with the establishment of cancer treatment centres and the creation of more healthcare positions. Furthermore, Rangasamy highlighted the allocation of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore for state infrastructure improvements and tax exemptions for life-saving medicines.
