Principal Scientific Adviser Professor Ajay Kumar Sood has emphasised the importance of strengthening science diplomacy by exploring the role of the private sector in shaping frameworks to anticipate and govern disruptive technologies. Mr Sood said this while chairing the inaugural edition of the Raisina Science Diplomacy Initiative at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. He also stressed the importance of leveraging existing multilateral mechanisms to ensure more equitable diffusion of technological advancements across societies. The discussions underlined the growing importance of science and technology for national development, economic competitiveness, global security and socio-economic progress. It was emphasised that science diplomacy must continuously adapt to new technological frontiers, shifting geopolitical realities, and emerging global challenges.
