Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to all devotees and participants of the Matua Dharma Mela. In a social media post, Mr Modi noted that this occasion is associated with the Jayanti of Purna Brahma Shree Shree Harichand Thakur, whose thoughts and teachings continue to give strength and hope to several people.

Mr Modi said that they awakened a powerful movement for dignity, equality and devotion and inspired generations to walk the path of righteousness, harmony and collective upliftment.

The Prime Minister noted that the rich and vibrant traditions of the Matua culture reflect a deep spiritual strength and an unbreakable commitment to equality. He added that it significantly enriches the social fabric of the nation. Mr Modi further added that over the past decade, the central government has been deeply committed to the welfare, empowerment and dignity of the Matua community.
