Prime Minister, Home Minister pay tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes to iconic tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary today. In a social media post, Mr. Modi said that on this sacred occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, the entire nation reverently remembers the unparalleled contribution of Birsa Munda in protecting the pride of the motherland. He added that Birsa Munda’s struggle and sacrifice against the injustices of foreign rule will continue to inspire every generation.

 

Home Minister Amit Shah described Birsa Munda as a symbol of tribal identity, Indian pride, and a great freedom fighter. He said that Dharti Aaba, on one hand, inspired the tribal community to protect their culture and rights, while on the other, united them against the British regime and encouraged them to lead the Ulgulan Movement. The Home Minister added that Birsa Munda’s life remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration for every patriot.

 

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw paid floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary today. In a social media post, Mr Vaishnaw extended his congratulations to all the countrymen on the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.
