President, Vice President and Prime Minister extend greetings on occasion of Mahavir Jayanti

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today conveyed greetings to countrymen on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. In a social media post, the President said that Lord Mahavir taught the principles of non-violence, truth, and self-restraint and inspired people to lead a life of compassion. The President added that everyone must take inspiration from the teachings of Lord Mahavir and make continuous efforts to build a more sensitive, peaceful and inclusive society.

The Vice President said that the timeless teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir continue to guide all towards a life of self-discipline, compassion and harmony. He added that Bhagwan Mahavir’s blessings strengthen the spirit of peace, non-violence and brotherhood in society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings on the occasion of the Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that the life and teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir continue to illuminate the path of truth, non-violence and compassion. He added that Bhagwan Mahavir’s ideals are spiritually uplifting and also deeply relevant in today’s world. The Prime Minister also shared some glimpses of the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth in Gujarat will be inaugurated today.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has extended greetings on the occasion of Lord Mahavir’s Janma Kalyanak. In a social media post, he added that Lord Mahavir’s five principles of conduct are not merely spiritual guidance but an unbreakable foundation for building a strong, ethical, and harmonious nation. Mr Shah said that Mahavir’s ideals of truth, non-violence, non-possession, and equality inspire the youth to move forward on the path of discipline, sensitivity, and national interest.
