President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Shimla from April 27 to May 2. During this proposed tour, she will stay at the President’s official residence in Shimla, ‘The Retreat.’ This information was shared today by Shimla District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap while presiding over a meeting held to review preparations for the President’s upcoming visit.
He directed officials from the concerned departments to complete all preparations within a stipulated time frame. He emphasised that all officials must ensure that no lapses occur during this proposed visit. He stated that the President would arrive in Shimla on April 27 and reside at her official residence, ‘The Retreat.’ He issued instructions to keep the Annadale Helipad, in addition to the Kalyani Helipad, ready for landing purposes.
The District Magistrate directed the Public Works Department to repair and maintain the route leading from the airport to ‘The Retreat.’ Furthermore, he instructed the Shimla Municipal Corporation to conduct a comprehensive sanitation drive within ‘The Retreat’ premises and the surrounding areas.
He also directed the SJPNL to ensure an uninterrupted water supply to ‘The Retreat.’ Anupam Kashyap instructed the Fire Department to conduct a fire safety audit of ‘The Retreat’ and other relevant locations to ensure that any untoward incident could be effectively addressed in a timely manner. Additionally, he directed the Health Department to deploy a 24×7 medical team and an ambulance.
He also issued instructions for the continuous testing of food samples. Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police (Shimla) Abhishek, Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Pankaj Sharma, and ‘The Retreat’ Manager Sanju Dogra, along with officials from various other departments, were present at the meeting.
