President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a bus mishap in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. In a social media post, President Droupadi Murmu has called the incident extremely heartbreaking. The President has expressed condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the accident and also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured individuals.

Mr Modi has announced an ex-gratia for the victims. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees will be given to the next of kin of each deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The injured will be given 50 thousand rupees.
