President Droupadi Murmu addressed members of the Indian Community in Angola yesterday. She noted that about the 8,000 strong Indian diaspora has been contributing positively to Angola’s economic progress. She added that the Indian diaspora is an integral part of the comprehensive reforms taking place in India.
Emphasizing the immense opportunities to further strengthen trade, investment, and people-to-people ties between India and Angola, President Murmu urged the Indian community to take an active part in endeavours to realise the shared prosperity of the two countries.
The President said that the diaspora are direct representatives of India’s diversity and cultural heritage; and that they act as a bridge between the two countries. She thanked the Indian Community for being connected to the Indian roots, keeping alive the Indian culture in Angola, for their love of India and for keeping the Indian flag flying high.
