President Droupadi Murmu today extended greetings to the citizens on the eve of Buddha Purnima. In her message, President Murmu said that this sacred day marks the epoch-making events of lord Buddha’s advent on earth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana. She added that his eternal messages of compassion, non-violence, peace and knowledge will continue to guide all of humanity. The president further added that in today’s world, which is facing numerous challenges, the teachings of Bhagwan Buddha inspire everyone to tread on the path of peace, tolerance and mutual harmony. She urged the citizens to take a resolve to imbibe his ideals and contribute to building a peaceful, inclusive and just society.
