President Droupadi Murmu has stressed that equal opportunities for every section of society, especially for the weakest and the marginalised section, are required to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat. She was addressing the gathering after unveiling the bust of former President KR Narayanan at Rajbhavan in Kerala today.

 

 

Highlighting the contribution made by former President KR Narayanan, the President said he left behind a legacy of integrity, compassion and high democratic spirit. She said, Mr. Narayanan devoted his life to nation-building and to shaping a more inclusive country. She said, KR Narayanan firmly believed that education is the base of civilisation and it is essential for the development of any society. 

 

 

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, former President Ram Nath Kovind, and Bihar Governor Arif Muhammad Khan were present on this occasion. The Governor of Kerala felicitated President Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind. In his address, Mr. Kovind said, KR Narayanan’s remarkable journey from a small village in Kerala to the highest office of the country continues to inspire millions across the nation with hope and confidence.
