President Droupadi Murmu will deliver a keynote address during the national-level celebrations of International Women’s Day at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi tomorrow.
Organised by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the event will also be attended by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi and the Minister of State Savitri Thakur.
The Ministry said that the event is expected to witness the participation of around one thousand women from more than 150 ministries, departments, and organisations, including representatives from the Armed Forces, police, and other sectors.
Following the inaugural ceremony, the programme will feature two panel discussions. The first panel discussion will focus on Labour Codes – Enhancing Empowerment of Women, while the second panel will discuss Self-Help Group Women as Entrepreneurs.
International Women’s Day is observed globally on 8th March. The day celebrates the achievements and contributions of women across diverse fields and reaffirms the collective commitment towards gender equality, safety, dignity, and empowerment of women.
