President Droupadi Murmu today greeted teachers across the country on the eve of Teachers’ Day. In a message, the President said that teachers are the guiding light of society and the architects of our nation’s future.

The President mentioned that as India moves ahead to achieve the goal of a developed nation, the role of teachers in preparing responsible, knowledgeable and skilled citizens becomes even more significant. Highlighting the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, she said that NEP reflects the government’s commitment to empowering teachers and strengthening the education system. She also emphasized creating a favourable environment that honours teachers and fosters creativity, compassion, and innovation in students.
